The Division of Adult Institutions is currently seeking to fill a Corrections Food Service Leader 3 role. This position plays a vital role in the operations of the food service department.

Position Overview

The individual in this role will oversee the preparation, cooking, and serving of meals during their assigned shift. Responsibilities include acting as the lead for all Corrections Food Service Leader 2's (CFSL-2) on duty, ensuring weekend coverage, and providing training for inmate workers and staff. Additionally, this position entails managing tasks within the institution's warehouse, directing activities in the Bakery and Storeroom areas, and supervising operations on the main service floor.

Compensation Details

This position falls within the designated pay schedule/range, offering a starting hourly wage of $22.78, along with a comprehensive benefits package. Pay for current state employees may vary based on applicable compensation provisions. A probationary period is required for all new hires.

Job Requirements

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application.

The Department of Corrections may require pre-employment drug testing. Candidates offered employment in positions requiring such testing must successfully pass the drug screen as a condition of employment.

A criminal background check will be conducted on all applicants prior to selection. New employees are subject to fingerprinting upon hire.

As positions related to public safety, remote work is not an option.

Qualifications

To be considered minimally qualified, applicants should possess:

  • Knowledge of food values and nutrition.
  • Experience in large-scale food preparation.
  • Understanding of sanitation standards in food service.

Additionally, well-qualified candidates will have experience in:

  • Monitoring food handling procedures, portion control, and management of leftovers.
