Position Overview

We are currently seeking to fill a Corrections Food Service Leader 3 role. This position is integral to the operations at our facilities.

Key Responsibilities

The individual in this role will oversee the preparation, cooking, and serving of meals during their assigned shift. Responsibilities also include acting as the lead for Corrections Food Service Leader 2's (CFSL-2) on duty, providing weekend coverage, and training both inmate workers and staff. Additionally, this position entails managing tasks within the institution's warehouse, directing activities in the Bakery and Storeroom, and supervising operations on the main floor.

Compensation and Benefits

This position falls within a specified pay schedule/range, starting at a rate of $22.78 per hour, accompanied by a comprehensive benefits package. For current state employees, pay upon appointment may differ based on the applicable provisions of the Compensation Plan, Wisconsin Administrative Code, and relevant statutes. A probationary period is mandatory.

Application Requirements

Applicants must possess legal authorization to work in the United States at the time of application.

The Department of Corrections may require pre-employment drug testing. Candidates offered positions that necessitate a drug screen must successfully pass this test as a condition of employment.

Criminal background checks will be conducted on applicants prior to selection. All new employees are subject to fingerprinting upon hire.

As public safety personnel, remote work options are not available for these roles.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Experience with nutritional values and food preparation.
  • Experience in large-scale food service operations.
  • Knowledge of sanitation standards in food service environments.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience in monitoring food handling procedures, portion control, and management of leftovers.
  • Experience with food service inventory management.
