Overall Purpose:

Duquesne Light Company is looking for qualified candidates for the position of Senior Cybersecurity Analyst I within the Cybersecurity Operations team, focusing on compliance with NERC CIP standards and safeguarding critical infrastructure. The Senior Cybersecurity Analyst is expected to grasp the organization's information security strategy and actively contribute to the creation, upkeep, and execution of a comprehensive system-wide information security program essential for protecting Duquesne Light.

As a member of the Cybersecurity Operations team, the Senior Cybersecurity Analyst must possess business insight and the capability to evaluate security risks while balancing operational requirements and regulatory compliance, effectively anticipating and communicating potential operational impacts stemming from policy and control modifications. This role involves utilizing a variety of tools and methodologies to assist end users, technology teams, and projects on both routine and ad hoc bases.

The Senior Cybersecurity Analyst will collaborate effectively across the organization to carry out cybersecurity initiatives, which include but are not limited to: assessing information security risks and threat intelligence, monitoring and investigating irregularities, developing security measures and risk mitigation strategies, executing system and application hardening, conducting vulnerability assessments, identifying information security-related business needs for potential projects, and diligently monitoring networks and systems for signs of compromise, infection, and misconfiguration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate, respond to, and remediate cybersecurity incidents within the critical infrastructure network.
  • Administer and support Cybersecurity Operations systems and applications pertinent to critical infrastructure.
  • Collaborate within a team environment, providing valuable input and feedback to develop and maintain documentation for all assigned tasks.
  • Contribute insights on the evaluation and recommendation of technologies and methodologies that can enhance the security and business continuity posture of Duquesne Light.
  • Manage expectations and communicate effectively with colleagues and project team members.
  • Oversee security event monitoring, tuning, and incident response efficiently.
  • Possess extensive knowledge of threats, risk assessment, and the formulation of security systems and protocols.
  • Ensure timely and accurate resolutions to all issues related to critical infrastructure security.
  • Monitor cybersecurity events daily and report findings to the Cybersecurity Operations Supervisor.
  • Review endpoints to ensure compliance with security policies and standards.
  • Conduct forensic analysis of host-based systems.
  • Stay informed about changes in the threat landscape affecting the information security program.
  • Research, analyze, and integrate actionable threat intelligence into Cybersecurity Operations and IT systems.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education/Certification:

  • Associate's degree in a relevant field such as Cybersecurity, Computer Forensics, or Computer Engineering; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Four (4+) or more years of pertinent Information Security experience.
  • Prior experience in utility transmission and distribution operations or industries utilizing SCADA systems.
  • Familiarity with the NERC CIP compliance framework and other regulatory frameworks governing Cybersecurity Operations.
  • Experience in security and regulatory audits, including evidence collection and analysis.
  • Proficient in managing on-premise security products, including Configuration Monitoring platforms, SIEM Solutions, Vulnerability Management platforms, and Endpoint Detection and Response tools.
  • Experience with Systems Administration in server environments, including Microsoft Windows and Linux Operating Systems.
  • Proficient in coding/scripting/database languages such as Python, PowerShell, and SQL.
  • Possession of Information Security certifications, including CISSP and SANS GIAC.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Intermediate understanding of cybersecurity topics, including vulnerability management, incident response, endpoint protection, and email security.
  • Proficient in technical writing and documentation of procedures and processes.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, demonstrating sound judgment and effective verbal and written communication.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences within the organization.
  • Strong analytical and project management capabilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently while managing multiple responsibilities in a dynamic environment.

Scope:

The primary focus is on daily deliverables, outputs, and reporting. Typically responsible for managing personal time and workflow, utilizing established guidelines to analyze situations and resolve issues. Work activities are generally moderate to complex, requiring the incumbent to leverage prior knowledge to perform effectively. While building knowledge, the individual is expected to operate independently most of the time, seeking guidance from experts and managers as necessary.

Decision Impact:

Encounters vague problems and issues, drawing on past experiences regularly. Accountable for direct reasoning and decision-making.

Hybrid Work:

This position follows a hybrid work model, requiring a minimum of two days in the office, with the remaining days working remotely. Reporting location and frequency may vary based on departmental needs.
