Overall Purpose:

Duquesne Light Company is looking for qualified candidates for the position of Senior Cybersecurity Analyst I within the Cybersecurity Operations team. This role is pivotal in supporting critical infrastructure security and compliance with NERC CIP standards. The Senior Cybersecurity Analyst will be responsible for understanding and enhancing the organization's information security strategy while contributing to the development, maintenance, and execution of a comprehensive information security program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate, respond to, and mitigate cyber incidents affecting critical infrastructure.
  • Administer and support Cybersecurity Operations systems and applications.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team environment, providing insights and feedback to enhance documentation for assigned tasks.
  • Evaluate and propose technologies and methodologies to strengthen the organization's security posture.
  • Manage expectations and maintain effective communication with colleagues and project teams.
  • Oversee security event monitoring, tuning, and incident response efficiently.
  • Possess extensive knowledge of threats, risk assessment, and the formulation of security systems and protocols.
  • Ensure timely and accurate resolutions to issues related to critical infrastructure security.
  • Monitor cybersecurity events on the network and report findings to the Cybersecurity Operations Supervisor.
  • Review endpoints for compliance with security policies and standards.
  • Conduct forensic analysis of host-based systems.
  • Stay informed about changes in the threat landscape that may impact the information security program.
  • Research and integrate actionable threat intelligence into Cybersecurity Operations and IT systems.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Associate's degree in a relevant field such as Cybersecurity, Computer Forensics, or Computer Engineering; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • A minimum of four years of relevant experience in Information Security.
  • Experience in utility transmission and distribution operations or industries utilizing SCADA systems is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with the NERC CIP compliance framework and other cybersecurity regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience in security and regulatory audits, including evidence collection and analysis.
  • Proficient in managing on-premise security solutions, including SIEM, Vulnerability Management, and Endpoint Detection and Response tools.
  • Experience with Systems Administration in environments utilizing Microsoft Windows and Linux.
  • Knowledge of coding/scripting/database languages such as Python, PowerShell, and SQL.
  • Relevant Information Security certifications, including CISSP and SANS GIAC, are preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Intermediate understanding of cybersecurity concepts such as vulnerability management and incident response.
  • Proficient in technical writing and documentation.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of conveying complex ideas clearly.
  • Excellent analytical and project management capabilities.
  • Able to prioritize tasks effectively in a dynamic environment.
