Position Overview:

Duquesne Light Company is in search of a Senior Cybersecurity Analyst to join our Cybersecurity Operations team, focusing on compliance with NERC CIP standards and safeguarding critical infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of our information security framework and will play a vital role in the development, execution, and enhancement of our comprehensive information security strategy.

The Senior Cybersecurity Analyst will be expected to demonstrate strong business insight and evaluate security vulnerabilities while balancing operational requirements and compliance mandates. This role requires the ability to foresee and communicate the potential impacts of changes in policies and controls on operations. The candidate will employ various tools and methodologies to assist users, technology teams, and projects both regularly and on an as-needed basis.

This position entails collaborating effectively across the organization to carry out cybersecurity initiatives, which include but are not limited to: assessing security risks and threat intelligence, monitoring for unusual activities, designing security measures and risk reduction strategies, implementing system and application hardening, conducting vulnerability assessments, identifying information security needs for projects, and continuously monitoring networks and systems for signs of breaches or misconfigurations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and address cybersecurity incidents within the critical infrastructure network.
  • Administer and support Cybersecurity Operations systems and applications.
  • Collaborate with team members to create and maintain documentation for all assigned tasks.
  • Provide insights on technology and methodologies that could strengthen the organization's security and business continuity.
  • Manage expectations and communicate effectively with colleagues and project teams.
  • Oversee security event monitoring, tuning, and incident response.
  • Possess extensive knowledge of threats, risk assessment, and security system development.
  • Ensure timely and accurate resolutions for issues related to critical infrastructure security.
  • Monitor cybersecurity events daily and report findings to the Cybersecurity Operations Supervisor.
  • Verify compliance with endpoint security policies and standards.
  • Conduct forensic analysis of host systems.
  • Stay informed about evolving threats that could impact the information security program.
  • Research and integrate actionable threat intelligence into Cybersecurity Operations and IT systems.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Cyber Security, Computer Forensics, or Computer Engineering; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • A minimum of four years of relevant experience in Information Security.
  • Experience in utility operations or industries utilizing SCADA systems is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with the NERC CIP compliance framework and other cybersecurity regulations.
  • Experience in security audits, including evidence collection and analysis.
  • Proficient in managing on-premise security tools such as SIEM, Vulnerability Management, and Endpoint Detection and Response solutions.
  • Knowledge of Systems Administration in environments like Microsoft Windows and Linux.
  • Experience with programming/scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, and SQL.
  • Possession of Information Security certifications like CISSP or SANS GIAC is preferred.
