Brown & Brown Insurance presents a compelling opportunity for an Application Developer to contribute to our PlanIT team.

The Application Developer will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of effective business, financial, and operational systems that support essential Division and Service Line functions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Engage in the conceptualization, design, development, and deployment of innovative applications, as well as enhancements to current systems. Write, translate, and code software programs and applications according to established specifications.
  • Conduct research, design, document, and modify software specifications throughout the production life cycle.
  • Evaluate and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems, assisting in the development of strategies for improvement and optimization.
  • Design, execute, and monitor software performance tests on both new and existing applications to identify errors, isolate areas for enhancement, and perform general debugging.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Accounting, or Management Information Systems.
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Java, JavaScript, C#, HTML5, and Azure Data Factory.
  • Familiarity with Azure cloud platforms and tools for deploying and managing data and applications.
  • Experience with SQL databases for data modeling and querying.
  • Understanding of RESTful API design and implementation.
  • Ability to articulate ideas in both technical and user-friendly terms.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed.
  • Capability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in a collaborative, team-oriented, and matrixed setting.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational abilities.
