ROLE OVERVIEW
The Technical Applications Specialist is tasked with offering pre-sales and sales application support across all product lines to ensure appropriate usage and reduce the Company's risk related to product liability. Additionally, this role involves contributing to the creation of training programs for both departmental staff and external clients.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:
- Evaluate and authorize site assessments to confirm the correct application of products. This includes gathering missing data, coordinating application designs, advising representatives on additional material needs, and providing installation guidelines and product limitations.
- Prepare quotations for products and/or options not listed in the Published Price List. This involves assessing customer requirements, negotiating with vendors, generating formal quotes, and managing projects once a quote is accepted.
- Design systems as necessary utilizing AutoCAD or Solidworks.
- Develop sales support materials such as detailed layouts and approval drawings as needed.
- Review pre-sales specifications and request approval drawings when necessary, which may involve customer interactions and site visits.
- Contribute to the creation of training programs for both departmental and interdepartmental use.
- Assist in organizing internal and external training seminars focused on application for field sales representatives.
- Support the sales team by delivering direct application assistance to clients.
- Provide ongoing feedback to departmental managers to foster the development of innovative and efficient application and pricing strategies.
- Deliver product training to new hires and representatives, alongside continuous training for existing staff. Formulate, implement, and document policies and procedures aimed at enhancing departmental efficiency.
- This role necessitates regular communication with Customers, Regional Managers, Representatives, Engineering, Purchasing, and personnel within the Applications Group. The Specialist serves as a valuable resource for Regional Managers regarding specialized applications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience with CAD software (Solidworks & AutoCAD preferred)
