Position Overview:

The Manager of Student Life operates under the guidance of the Dean of Students and Compliance Officer, overseeing the organization and assessment of various student organizations and events, including the Inter-Club Council and Phi Theta Kappa. This role is pivotal in shaping departmental objectives and enhancing student engagement through extracurricular initiatives that foster leadership and community involvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Dean in the administration and operations of the Student Life Office.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of special projects and events aimed at enriching student life.
  • Collaborate with the Dean to maintain and oversee Student Life facilities, ensuring smooth operation of events and addressing any disciplinary matters.
  • Supervise activities organized by the Student Life Office, including those held during evenings and weekends.
  • Coordinate technical arrangements for campus activities managed by the Student Life Office.
  • Guide student leaders from various organizations, serving as a resource for all student clubs.
  • Facilitate the recruitment of new students into ongoing Student Life organizations.
  • Conduct interviews, hire, and evaluate student employees within the department.
  • Assist student clubs in strategic planning and the execution of fundraising initiatives.
  • Research and implement best practices in student engagement and program development.
  • Work with the Dean to ensure appropriate budgeting for student life activities.
  • Oversee the creation of necessary documentation for student organization requests.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, communications, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in coordinating and managing large-scale projects or events is essential.
Experience in Student Life and higher education is preferred. A Master's degree is also desirable.Skills:
  • Proficient in coordinating programs that enhance student retention and success.
  • Ability to effectively organize and manage complex events.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with excellent organizational abilities.
  • Effective conflict resolution and listening skills.
  • Capability to collaborate with diverse departments and stakeholders.
  • Competence in managing administrative responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the college's core values, including diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Familiarity with basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
Position Status:

Full Time

Work Schedule:

Monday – Friday
8:00 AM – 5:15 PM
Some evenings and weekends may be required.

Compensation:

$59,180 + Exceptional benefits
