Overview:

The Manager of Student Life operates under the guidance of the Dean of Students and Compliance Officer, overseeing the organization and assessment of various student-led initiatives, including the Inter-Club Council and Phi Theta Kappa. This role is pivotal in shaping departmental objectives and crafting publications that resonate with the student body. The Manager is committed to fostering an environment that encourages student participation and leadership through extracurricular programs and activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Dean in the management and operations of the Student Life Office.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of special projects, including college events and cultural awareness initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with the Dean to maintain Student Life facilities, supervise events, and address any disciplinary matters that may arise.
  • Oversee activities scheduled during evenings and weekends, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Coordinate the technical arrangements for campus events organized by the Student Life Office.
  • Supervise student leaders from various organizations, serving as a resource for all student clubs.
  • Facilitate the recruitment of new students into ongoing Student Life organizations and clubs.
  • Conduct interviews, hire, and evaluate student employees within the department.
  • Guide student clubs and the Inter-Club Council in strategic planning and the implementation of special activities.
  • Research and apply best practices in student engagement to enhance program offerings.
  • Collaborate with the Dean to ensure appropriate budgeting for student life initiatives.
  • Oversee the creation of essential documents for student organizations' requests.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, communications, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in coordinating and managing large-scale projects or events is required.
Experience in Student Life and higher education is preferred. A Master's degree is also preferred.Skills:
  • Proven ability to coordinate programs that enhance student retention and success.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage complex events effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective conflict resolution and active listening abilities.
  • Capacity to collaborate with diverse departments and stakeholders.
  • Proficient in managing administrative responsibilities.
  • Understanding of the college's core values, including diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Familiarity with basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
Position Status:

Full Time

Hours:

Monday – Friday
8:00 AM – 5:15 PM
Some evenings and weekends may be required.

Compensation:

$59,180 + Exceptional benefits
