Payroll Manager

At Travel Nurse Across America, we are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Manager to join our team. As a Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the payroll department and ensuring that all processes are executed accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage the payroll functions, including payroll processing, payroll taxes, and reviewing and revising policies and procedures.
- Define standards and reusable approaches within the Payroll operational framework.
- Maintain, manage, and enforce adherence to compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all reporting standards, including taxes, tax filing, and garnishment.
- Perform internal audits related to payroll to ensure the payroll department is adhering to company legal standards.
- Approve and release manual off-cycle check payments.
- Ensure payroll discrepancies and issues are resolved.
- Ensure the payroll team is properly trained and provide leadership to enhance performance, quality, and productivity.
- Lead and facilitate team calls/meetings as needed.
- Facilitate and maintain regular communication with internal departments to identify issues and implement process improvements.
- Serve as the point of escalation for Payroll Assistants and Specialists.
- Escalate items that require higher-level intervention and/or visibility to the Sr. Director of Financial Operations.
- Assist in other tax preparation and reporting as directed by the Sr. Director of Financial Operations.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Degree and/or certification in job-related field.
- Five (5) years of experience in payroll accounting.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with company policies and guidelines.
- Knowledge of payroll software and databases.
- Demonstrated organizational and leadership skills.
- Ability to perform mathematical and financial calculations related to payroll processing.
- Strong time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent communication skills and high level of comfort communicating with employees across functional areas.
- High sense of urgency/proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions in accordance with established policies and regulations.
- Prior supervisory experience.
- Healthcare Staffing industry experience.
- 3-5 years of payroll experience.
The base salary for this role is $65,000 to $74,750 per year. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including prior experience or expertise and may vary from the amount above.
