Job Overview

Position Title: Mobile Security Specialist

Shift: Day Shift: 7:00am - 4:00pm

This role is designed for a dedicated Mobile Security Specialist who will report directly to the Safety, Security, and Transportation Manager. This is an hourly, non-exempt position responsible for upholding all regulations, laws, and policies as mandated by the Safety and Security Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exemplify and adhere to the core values and operational principles of Covenant Learning Solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Conduct patrols and alarm response duties in designated areas to safeguard life and property against theft, vandalism, and other potential hazards.
  • Provide transportation support as directed by the supervisor, ensuring adherence to all relevant directives.
  • Assist visitors, students, and staff with inquiries and concerns.
  • Perform security and safety inspections of buildings.
  • Address complaints and conduct preliminary investigations as necessary.
  • Maintain positive relationships with local law enforcement agencies.
  • Offer escort services as required.
  • Investigate incidents involving vehicles on the premises.
  • Issue visitor passes and temporary vehicle permits.
  • Document incidents and maintain a security log.
  • Enforce the facility's pass policy.
  • Participate in mandatory training sessions.
  • Engage in the disciplinary process as outlined, promoting a zero-tolerance policy for violence and substance abuse.
  • Support reception duties and manage the control area for staff, students, and visitors.
  • Act as a switchboard operator when needed.
  • Comply with the Covenant Learning Solutions Quality Assurance Plan.
  • Effectively communicate and model employability skills, including personal accountability and computer proficiency.
  • Ensure the safety and accountability of staff, students, and property while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Foster a respectful and harassment-free environment conducive to learning and working.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Preferred: 1 year of experience in security, law enforcement, or military service.
  • A valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record is essential.

Additional Skills: Knowledge of crowd control techniques and law enforcement procedures is preferred. CPR/FA Certification is required. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential. The ability to operate office equipment and drive a vehicle is necessary. The candidate must be able to collaborate effectively with team members and maintain positive working relationships across all departments.
