Life Science Research Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled Life Science Research Professional to join our team at the Stanford University Protein and Nucleic Acid (PAN) Facility. The successful candidate will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to plan and execute genomic technology and molecular biology experiments, as well as participate in other lab activities.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement new research protocols, including primer design, validation, and optimization in real-time PCR reactions.
- Conduct Nucleic Acid QC, Real-time PCR, DNA Sequencing, and Fragment Analysis data interpretation and analysis.
- Collaborate with researchers to design and execute experiments, and provide technical support and guidance as needed.
- Develop and maintain laboratory procedures and protocols, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Provide training and guidance to junior staff and students on laboratory techniques and procedures.
- Contribute to the preparation of papers for publication, and present ongoing work to colleagues and academic conferences.
- Master's degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related field.
- Experience in molecular biology experimentation, with a strong aptitude for learning new technologies.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse researchers and collaborators.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organizational and time management skills.
- May require working in close proximity to blood-borne pathogens.
- May require work in an environment where animals are used for teaching and research.
- Position may at times require the employee to work with or be in areas where hazardous materials and/or infectious diseases are present.
