Compensation: Competitive salary based on qualifications and experience, plus $500 bonus after 6 months and $1,000 bonus after 1 year

Position Overview:

The Oklahoma Blood Institute is dedicated to excellence in our operations and aims to positively impact the health and wellness of our community. As we grow our services, we are looking for a talented individual to join our team as a Scheduling and Equipment Coordinator, who will also serve as a Backup Phlebotomist. This role is vital for the smooth functioning of our mobile operations, involving the management of scheduling tasks, coordination of equipment and supply utilization, and stepping in as a backup phlebotomist when necessary. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, outstanding organizational capabilities, and the ability to effectively juggle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Must provide a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no points and no moving violations in the last 3 years
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as needed
  • Ability to lift without restrictions
  • Basic computer skills
  • Preferred experience in scheduling, logistics, equipment management, and phlebotomy

Key Responsibilities:

Scheduling Coordination:

  • Create and manage schedules for blood donation events, ensuring optimal coverage and resource utilization.
  • Collaborate with recruitment, management, and frontline staff to schedule events and training according to established guidelines.
  • Adjust schedules and staffing in response to changing demands or circumstances.

Equipment Management:

  • Oversee the inventory of equipment, including tracking availability, usage, and maintenance schedules.
  • Ensure timely delivery and proper functioning of equipment for various setups.
  • Work with vendors to acquire necessary equipment and arrange for maintenance or repairs.

Supply Oversight:

  • Monitor supply inventory levels and initiate orders to restock as necessary.
  • Research suppliers, obtain quotes, and place orders to ensure cost-effectiveness and timely delivery.
  • Coordinate with finance and management to process purchase orders and maintain accurate supply transaction records.

Backup Phlebotomist Duties:

  • Act as a backup phlebotomist when required at donation centers or during mobile events.
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant procedures and policies.
  • Perform all tasks outlined in Standard Operating Procedures, including registration, vital checks, medical screening, phlebotomy, and record-keeping.

Quality Control:

  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance checks on equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Develop and implement usage and maintenance protocols to enhance performance and longevity.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance donor care and operational efficiency.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Act as a liaison among staff, management, and donor recruitment to coordinate scheduling, equipment, and supply needs.
  • Effectively communicate with management regarding staffing and resource scheduling, addressing any concerns.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure successful blood donation events and a seamless experience for donors.
