The Equipment Rental Specialist is vital in delivering operational assistance and facilitating equipment rentals. In this role, you will be essential in ensuring a seamless rental experience for our clients. This position operates with minimal supervision and may involve complex tasks, necessitating initiative, resilience, attention to detail, a sense of urgency, teamwork, enthusiasm for customer service, and a commitment to efficient problem-solving.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Execute rental transactions and coordinate the pickup and delivery of rental equipment.
  • Accurately gather and input all necessary rental information.
  • Engage with customers to establish rental rates, formulate contracts, and arrange transportation based on their requirements.
  • Advise customers on products and services that meet their needs.
  • Prepare and assist in generating rental quotes.
  • Collaborate with fellow rental coordinators, sales staff, transportation, credit, and service teams to ensure all documentation and contracts are precise and complete.
  • Utilize WCAT rental software to create, modify, invoice, and finalize rental agreements.
  • Reconcile inventory counts and address any discrepancies as required.
  • Innovate solutions for unique challenges as they arise.
  • Obtain necessary credit purchase order requirements from the internal credit department daily.
  • Ensure timely collection and maintenance of cash and commercial accounts throughout the rental duration.
  • Manage the transfer and tracking of equipment between locations as necessary.
  • Adhere to check-in/check-out protocols for all units entering or leaving the equipment yard.
  • Document any lost rentals reported by customers and sales representatives.
  • Conduct outreach to potential rental clients.
  • Invoice for rental fuel, maintenance, damage, and transportation costs as needed.
  • Guide customers on the safe and proper operation of equipment.
  • Maintain a customer-centric approach to service and satisfaction.
  • Respond promptly to incoming calls and return voice messages.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and operational procedures.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma or GED; or one to three years of experience in the transportation sector and/or relevant training; or a suitable combination of education and experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving, customer service, and teamwork skills.
  • Capability to read, analyze, and interpret various business documents and regulations.
  • Proficient in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
  • Aptitude for effectively presenting information and addressing inquiries from diverse groups.
  • Ability to perform calculations involving discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.
  • Skill in resolving practical issues and managing various concrete variables in non-standardized situations.
  • Basic computer skills are essential, with familiarity in spreadsheet, database, and web-based platforms.
