Position Overview

Job Title: Senior Maritime Program Coordinator

The ideal candidate will possess over 25 years of experience in the formulation and oversight of Federal initiatives that bolster the U.S. Marine Transportation System (MTS). This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including maritime workforce policy and legislative support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute innovative program strategies while enhancing existing agency initiatives to fortify the MTS, focusing on infrastructure, industry, and labor.
  • Facilitate interagency collaborations for high-level discussions, effective communication, and actionable strategies in support of the MTS.
  • Demonstrate extensive expertise in the development and implementation of maritime and mariner policies and regulations in alignment with legislative mandates.
  • Oversee the creation and successful negotiation of Memorandum of Agreement documents, including formulating policies and regulations regarding Federal assistance to State Maritime Academies.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor of Science degree or higher in a maritime-related discipline.
  • Possession of a Merchant Mariner License issued by a recognized national maritime authority, whether active or inactive.
