About the Role:

The Vice President of Development and/or Chief Development Officer will play a pivotal leadership role in advancing our organization's mission and securing financial support for our programs and services. This position will be part of our senior leadership team and will report directly to the President.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Fundraising:
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to meet or exceed annual revenue targets.
    • Build and maintain relationships with major donors, foundations, and corporate partners to secure significant gifts and grants.
    • Collaborate with the President and senior leadership team to establish fundraising goals and priorities.
  • Leadership and Team Management:
    • Lead and manage a team of development professionals to achieve fundraising goals and objectives.
    • Provide guidance, coaching, and mentoring to team members to ensure their success and growth.
    • Develop and implement systems and processes to improve team performance and efficiency.
  • Organizational Leadership:
    • Participate in senior leadership team meetings to contribute to strategic decision-making and organizational planning.
    • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment and integration of fundraising efforts with organizational goals.
    • Represent the organization in external fundraising efforts and events.
Qualifications:
  • At least ten years of experience in development and fundraising, with a proven track record of success in securing major gifts and grants.
  • Experience in leading and managing development teams, with a focus on strategic planning and team performance.
  • Strong relationships with major donors, foundations, and corporate partners, with a demonstrated ability to secure significant gifts and grants.
  • Excellent leadership, management, and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective solutions.
  • Experience in working with diverse stakeholders, including donors, board members, and staff.
Benefits:
  • A competitive salary range of $200,000 to $225,000 annually, depending on experience.
