Vice President for Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer

Job Summary:

PennWest University is seeking a highly skilled and experienced financial executive to serve as Vice President for Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the University's financial and administrative functions, including budgeting, financial planning, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the offices of Fiscal Affairs, Human Resources, Information Technology Services, and Administration
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and monitor actual to budget
  • Collaborate with the PASSHE Office of the Chancellor and design initiatives to achieve sustainability for PennWest University
  • Provide innovative strategies to improve space utilization and reduce costs
  • Represent the University on System-related governance groups
Operational Activities:
  • Create, implement, and oversee financial and administrative functions, policies, and systems
  • Provide executive leadership and direction to senior division managers
  • Manage and oversee accounting and budgeting, compliance, financial reporting and analysis, risk management, and auditing functions
  • Ensure collaboration with the Student Accounts and Financial Aid Office operations
  • Manage and oversee billing and collection of University tuition and fees
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Management, Accounting, or a related discipline
  • At least ten years of progressive management experience in financial and administrative affairs
  • Demonstrated commitment to establishing and sustaining a culture of excellence and accountability
  • Record of accomplishment in developing effective financial strategies
  • Diplomatic skills necessary to navigate political and legislative processes
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience administratively supervising Facilities, Human Resources, and Information Technology Service areas
