Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Accountant/Analyst, your duties will include the preparation and analysis of financial statements and reports, ensuring accurate disclosures, and creating supplementary content for dissemination to the federal sector. This senior position will also involve mentoring junior staff and new team members.

Core Responsibilities Include:

  • Reviewing and preparing journal entries and other accounting transactions while ensuring compliance with GAAP and relevant regulations.
  • Compiling quarterly financial statements, footnotes, and associated reconciliations.
  • Drafting, validating, and adhering to standard operating procedures, identifying gaps, and proposing solutions to enhance internal controls.
  • Investigating and rectifying discrepancies found in various financial reports.
  • Delivering presentations to various levels of personnel.
  • Reviewing financial information for accuracy and compliance with established standards.
  • Managing the list of items required for the annual audit and assisting with corrective action plans.
  • Supporting the review and analysis of related business processes and recommending innovative solutions.
  • Preparing, reviewing, and submitting various ad-hoc reports and summaries for management and client representatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with at least 24 credit hours in accounting.
  • A minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting or financial management.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  • Experience with Federal Financial reporting and OMB A-136 circulars is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Quick learner with a willingness to acquire new skills and knowledge.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Federal Accounting experience is advantageous but not essential.
  • CPA candidate and/or CGFM designation preferred.
  • Willingness to occasionally work extra hours to meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to obtain a security clearance and U.S. Citizenship is required.
