Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Leadership: Direct and coordinate ELL Department operations and programs, ensuring effective implementation and achievement of goals.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise and develop staff skills, conduct performance evaluations, and ensure the work quality and timely accomplishment of assigned duties and responsibilities.
  • Community Engagement: Coordinate EL families and community organization's interaction and collaboration with the Superintendent and Executive Director of the Department.
  • Communication: Prepare and conduct presentations to the Board, legislators, staff, and community partners, representing the District with external partners to communicate the District and department's vision, mission, and purpose.
  • Project Management: Coordinate the Department's strategic plan, project work, and day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with federal regulations.
  • Professional Development: Facilitate and create professional development that leads to long-term family involvement and community partnerships.
  • Minimum Qualifications: Master's Degree in Education, Second Languages and Cultures, Educational Policy, Administration, or related field, and four (4) years of experience in program coordination and leadership skills.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Federal, state, and local codes and regulations governing ELL programs and services.
  • Methods and techniques required to translate written and spoken languages.
  • Correct English grammar, composition, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary.
  • Program evaluation, project planning, customer service, and public relations methods and practices.
