Job Summary

The Senior Accountant position at West Florida Medical Center Clinic PA is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, including fixed assets, banking activities, and corporate credit card management. This role requires strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and report fixed assets, ensuring compliance with GAAP and governmental tax laws.
  • Manage banking activities, including daily and monthly downloads, cash and credit card files, and bank reconciliations.
  • Review and post corporate credit card activity, ensuring accurate expense reporting.
  • Collaborate with practice managers to review monthly physician compensation and provide reporting needs.
  • Prepare accurate monthly journal entries and ensure timely closing processes.
  • Review and ensure timely filing of monthly sales tax returns.
  • Prepare information and schedules for the corporate income tax return.
  • Assist in implementing processes and databases to improve efficiency, accuracy, and data management in the Finance department.
  • Support the annual budget process by extracting data from various systems.
  • Complete corporate surveys as requested by the V.P. of Financial Operations and/or Executive V.P.
  • Generate and produce internal and external reports as required by the Controller.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Three years of accounting experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong customer service skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with staff members at all levels of the organization in a cooperative and team-oriented manner.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including MS Excel and Access.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
