Job Summary:
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Attorney position at Entergy Corporation is a unique opportunity for a skilled attorney to join our team and contribute to the company's success in the electric utility industry.
Responsibilities:
- Provide legal and regulatory services to the electric utility, generation, and power marketing affiliates of Entergy Corporation.
- Concentrate on regulatory, litigation, and policy matters before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).
- Assume lead responsibility for various matters and/or assist the Company's other in-house regulatory attorneys on various matters.
- Participate in developing legal and strategic advice regarding key business initiatives.
- Litigate various matters before FERC and appellate courts.
- Advise officers and management on FERC-related matters.
- Manage internal project teams and outside counsel.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
- 6+ years of legal experience involving FERC regulation of the electric industry for Counsel Sr position.
- 8+ years of legal experience involving FERC regulation of the electric industry for Asst General Counsel position.
- Preferred experience with compliance and enforcement matters.
- Strong academic record or equivalent practice record.
- In-depth knowledge of, and experience with, the electric utility industry.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to quickly learn applicable law in a broad range of areas.
- Strong negotiating skills and the ability to think creatively, strategically, and tactically.
- Good computer research skills.
