Position Overview: Specialized Analytics Senior Lead

The Specialized Analytics Senior Lead plays a pivotal role in the organization, leveraging advanced knowledge and staying abreast of the latest developments in the analytics domain. This individual is among the select few with such specialized expertise, making strong communication skills essential for effective negotiations at senior levels. The ability to communicate and navigate complex discussions is crucial for influencing and guiding both internal teams and external stakeholders. This role carries significant responsibility for delivering impactful business outcomes and providing expert advice on operational strategies. The focus will be on overseeing technical strategies, particularly in the realm of fraud detection model validation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage collaboratively with model developers, external vendors, and Model Risk Management validators throughout the entire model lifecycle.
  • Lead the validation and assessment of fraud detection models, employing statistical analysis and data integrity checks.
  • Provide strategic insights regarding model documentation, underlying assumptions, data sources, and the interpretation of validation results.
  • Conduct comprehensive validation evaluations for fraud models, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and industry best practices.
  • Analyze complex data sets to support business strategies aimed at achieving critical outcomes.
  • Utilize tools such as SQL and Access to identify and assess data sets that drive business success.
  • Document requirements for data collection, processing methodologies, and exploratory data analysis.
  • Specialize in areas such as marketing, risk management, digital analytics, and anti-money laundering, with an emphasis on risk mitigation and compliance assurance.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in statistical analysis and model validation.
  • Proficient in both traditional and advanced modeling techniques and algorithms.
  • In-depth knowledge of model evaluation methodologies and familiarity with regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience in a quantitative discipline, ideally within the Financial or Credit Card sectors.
  • Extensive modeling expertise with tools such as R, Python, H2O, and SAS.
  • Exceptional analytical capabilities, problem-solving skills, and collaborative abilities.
  • Strong academic foundation in statistics, mathematics, economics, or related fields.
