Job Summary

As a Senior Manager, Fraud Model Validation Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of our fraud detection models, while also providing strategic guidance to vendors, developers, and business partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner closely with model developers, vendors, and Model Risk Management validators to ensure the validation and testing of fraud detection models.
  • Lead the development and implementation of validation methodologies to assess model accuracy, robustness, and effectiveness.
  • Provide strategic guidance to vendors, developers, and business partners on model documentation, model assumptions, data sources, and interpretation of validation results.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices in fraud detection and model validation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize business needs and develop solutions to meet those needs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including business leaders, vendors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, and apply that knowledge to drive innovation and improvement in our fraud detection models.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience in a quantitative field, with a strong background in statistical analysis and model validation techniques.
  • Strong proficiency in statistical analysis and model validation techniques, including traditional and advanced modeling techniques and algorithms.
  • Expertise in model evaluation techniques, such as ROC curves, precision-recall, KS, cross-validation, feature importance, SHAP values, etc.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and guidelines related to risk model validation.
  • Working experience in a quantitative field, Financial/Credit Card industry preferred.
  • Deep modeling expertise and experience with analytic techniques and tools, including R, Python, H2O, and SAS.
  • Excellent analytical thinking, practical problem-solving abilities, and partnership skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Education
  • Bachelor's/University degree in statistics, mathematics, physics, economics, or other analytical or quantitative discipline. Master's Degree or PhD preferred.
