Key Responsibilities
  • Personal Care: Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, and oral care to promote the client's independence and dignity.
  • Mobility Support: Help clients with transferring, walking, and using mobility aids such as walkers or wheelchairs to maintain their mobility and safety.
  • Medication Reminders: Ensure that clients take their medications on schedule and as prescribed, while also monitoring for any potential side effects or interactions.
  • Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare nutritious meals that cater to the client's dietary needs and preferences, and assist with eating if necessary.
  • Household Chores: Perform light housekeeping duties such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing living spaces to maintain a safe and comfortable environment.
  • Companionship: Provide emotional support and engage in activities that promote social interaction and reduce feelings of loneliness, such as conversation, games, or hobbies.
  • Errands and Transportation: Assist clients with grocery shopping, picking up prescriptions, and providing transportation to appointments as needed.
  • Health Monitoring: Observe and report any changes in the client's physical or mental health to family members or healthcare providers.
  • Safety Supervision: Ensure a safe living environment by addressing potential hazards and monitoring for any signs of distress or emergencies.
  • Assistance with Daily Activities: Help clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as toileting, feeding, and managing incontinence.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of care provided, including notes on the client's condition and any changes observed.
  • Communication: Serve as a liaison between the client, their family, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of two years of caregiving experience, preferably with senior clients.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 40 pounds, assisting clients with various heights and weights, and repositioning bed-bound clients.
  • Transportation: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Reliability: Commitment to showing up to work on time and providing consistent care to clients.
  • Certifications: Ability to pass a criminal background and driving record checks with no felonies.
