Position Summary:
We are looking for a Clinical Nurse Education Specialist with a focus on Pediatric Cardiac care. This role is part of the Center for Nursing Excellence, a vibrant team committed to practice improvement, professional growth, innovation, research, and quality enhancement.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Clinical Nurse Education Specialist (CNES), your primary focus will be on nursing professional development, education, competency, and evidence-based practices in pediatrics, particularly in support of a new Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Clinical Resource: Act as a clinical resource and role model, providing supervision to staff in enhancing their clinical knowledge and skills.
  2. Competency Development: Identify essential competencies for clinical areas and develop educational programs to maintain or enhance these competencies.
  3. Consultation: Offer educational consultation to the healthcare system and nursing leadership for program development.
  4. Program Delivery: Independently plan and deliver a variety of educational programs aimed at nursing staff.
  5. Evidence-Based Practice: Create evidence-based standards of care and facilitate their implementation.
  6. Nursing Education: Develop educational initiatives to improve the knowledge and skills of nursing staff.
  7. Student Placement: Assist in the orientation and placement of nursing students in clinical settings.
  8. Professional Development: Take responsibility for your own professional growth and maintain current certifications.
  9. Research and Policy Development: Evaluate research to stay informed about practice trends and guide the development of nursing standards and policies.

Qualifications:
Candidates must have graduated from a state-accredited nursing program, hold a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Nursing, and be licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse. A minimum of two years of clinical experience in a relevant specialty is required.

Work Environment:
This is a full-time position with standard working hours. The role is onsite and exempt from overtime.
