Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer

Join UNC Health as a Pediatric Echo Tech and contribute to the well-being of unique communities. This role involves performing cardiac ultrasound testing for noninvasive pediatric cardiology services.
Responsibilities:- Echocardiograms: Perform transthoracic and assist with transesophageal echocardiograms of pediatric, adult congenital, and fetal patients with consistent diagnostic quality.
- Patient Care: Demonstrate competence in delivering pre-procedure and post-procedure patient care, including patient assessment, pre- and post-procedure care, and BLS.
- Consultation: Provide consultation with healthcare providers regarding pediatric echocardiograms.
- Patient Documentation: Monitor and record patient information, maintain report storage and data systems, and compile and enter data necessary for charge entry and report preparation.
- 1-3 years of echo experience preferred.
- Fetal echo experience is a plus.
- Perform daily clinical operations of echocardiography, including exams, covering off sites, and call.
- Complete routine cleaning and preventative maintenance on echo equipment.
- Working knowledge of Epic is a plus.
- Associate's degree in Sonography, Radiology, or related field and/or ARDMS or CCI registered/registry eligible in Pediatric Echocardiography.
- Proficient in all modalities of Pediatric Echocardiography, including 2-D, M-Mode, CW/PW Doppler, tissue Doppler, and have a working knowledge of pediatric heart disease and surgical repair.
