Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Middle School Volleyball Instructor who is actively engaged in the community and committed to the mission of our institution. This is a part-time, exempt role that will report directly to the Athletic Director. The instructor will be responsible for seasonal coaching duties as required for the sport.


Key Responsibilities:

Primary duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Evaluating player performance and delivering constructive feedback, ensuring a balance of critique and encouragement
  • Identifying strengths and areas for improvement in participants' skills and providing tailored development plans
  • Adapting coaching methods to meet the diverse needs and interests of individual and group participants
  • Communicating instructions clearly and effectively
  • Demonstrating techniques by breaking down activities into manageable steps
  • Encouraging participants to enhance their skills, knowledge, and techniques
  • Ensuring that all training and performances adhere to high standards of health and safety
  • Inspiring confidence and self-esteem among participants
  • Developing a comprehensive understanding of fitness, injury prevention, sports psychology, nutrition, and sports science
  • Acting as a role model and earning the respect and trust of participants
  • Upholding high legal and ethical standards, particularly regarding child safeguarding and health and safety
  • Creating personalized training regimens
  • Maintaining accurate records of participant performance
  • Coordinating attendance for meetings and sporting events
  • Planning and executing activity programs for individuals and groups
  • Identifying suitable competitions for participants
  • Scheduling practices and games effectively


Qualifications:

  • Previous coaching or athletic experience is preferred
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • A positive attitude towards students, staff, and faculty
