Middle School Football Coaching Position

The Diocese of Austin Catholic Schools is looking for a dedicated part-time Tackle Football Coach for the Middle School level. This role is designed to support the athletic program and enhance the experience of student athletes during the football season.
Position Overview: The Tackle Football Coach plays a crucial role in promoting the values of Catholic education while leading the football program. This position is focused on preparing student athletes for competitive play in a supportive and faith-based environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Embraces and promotes the mission of Catholic education within the athletic program.
- Ensures confidentiality regarding all school-related matters.
- Exemplifies professional behavior and sportsmanship, fostering these qualities in team members.
- Coordinates practice and game schedules in collaboration with the Athletic Director and fellow coaches.
- Oversees the physical well-being of participants, reporting any injuries to guardians and school authorities.
- Maintains vigilant supervision of all team activities during practices and games.
- Instructs student athletes on essential safety protocols and strategies, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Adheres to school and diocesan safety policies and guidelines.
- Communicates effectively with the Athletic Director and coaching staff regarding logistical needs.
- Ensures emergency contact information is readily available during all team activities.
- Demonstrates professionalism in all interactions and responsibilities.
- Maintains a flexible schedule to be accessible to students, staff, and the school community.
- Instructs athletes on effective strategies, skills, and the rules of the game.
- Motivates student athletes to achieve their best as individuals and as part of a team.
- Utilizes positive and corrective discipline methods to address any inappropriate behavior.
- Possesses expertise in the fundamentals of football.
- Exhibits skill in engaging and inspiring student athletes.
- Capable of lifting and transporting athletic equipment as needed.
- Maintains composure and professionalism in all situations.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Current certification in CPR and First Aid.
Experience:
- Prior coaching experience is essential.
