About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Optometrist to join our team at Maine Optometry. As an Optometrist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional eye care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Comprehensive Eye Exams: Conduct thorough eye exams to diagnose and treat various eye conditions.
  • Diagnose and Treat Ocular Diseases: Identify and assist in the treatment of ocular diseases, including glaucoma, cataracts, and age-related macular degeneration.
  • Prescribe Corrective Lenses: Prescribe glasses, contact lenses, or other corrective measures to improve patients' vision.
  • Provide Pre- and Post-Operative Care: Assist patients before and after eye surgery, ensuring a smooth recovery process.
  • Promote Healthy Vision: Educate patients on how to maintain healthy vision, including proper eye care habits and nutrition.
  • Maintain Patient Records: Accurately document patient information, diagnosis, treatment plans, and progress.
  • Handle Eye Care Emergencies: Respond promptly to eye care emergencies, providing timely and effective treatment.
Requirements
  • Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) Degree: Possess a valid Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited institution.
  • Valid State License: Hold a valid state license to practice optometry in Maine.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills, able to effectively interact with patients and colleagues.
  • Strong Work Ethic: Possess a strong sense of professionalism, personal ethics, and customer-service orientation.
