Key Responsibilities:

As an Optical Sales Specialist, you will play a crucial role in assisting patients with eyewear selection and ensuring proper adjustments for optimal fit and functionality. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Taking precise measurements, adjusting eyewear as needed, and ensuring that the final products meet both standards and patient specifications.
  • Engaging with customers to understand their needs through open-ended questions.
  • Reviewing prescriptions, identifying unique requirements, and collaborating with optometrists and management as necessary.
  • Custom fitting glasses and thoroughly inspecting eyewear to reinforce patients' choices.
  • Demonstrating extensive product knowledge and effectively communicating the features and benefits of various lenses and frames.
  • Proactively addressing potential issues, understanding the root causes of patients' concerns, and developing long-term solutions.
  • Educating patients about eyewear options and committing to delivery timelines.
  • Maintaining an organized and visually appealing frame display.
  • Upholding patient privacy rights in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

  • American Board of Opticianry (ABO) certification and optical dispensing experience are preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with current optical frame styles and trends.
  • Experience with OfficeMate is a plus.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent is required.
