Position Overview:
The Senior Compliance Auditor will be responsible for overseeing and executing comprehensive auditing activities, ensuring adherence to relevant state licensing, reimbursement, and regulatory standards.

This role demands meticulous attention to detail, a commitment to maintaining documentation that aligns with both state and federal regulations, and a collaborative spirit to work effectively with various departments on documentation discrepancies.

This is a full-time role, requiring 40 hours per week.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Promoting excellence, ongoing enhancement, and superior performance in all quality assurance initiatives.
  • Collaborating with the Quality Assurance team to assess treatment plans, comprehensive assessments, trackers, and documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Formulating and executing organizational policies and procedures related to Quality Assurance.
  • Mastering record systems and ensuring compliance with regulatory and reimbursement standards.
  • Conducting and managing the monthly BHHO audit.
  • Completing the monthly BHHO attestation.
  • Establishing effective internal controls to ensure compliance with relevant regulatory bodies.
  • Analyzing data to pinpoint opportunities for enhancement within the quality system.
  • Assisting in the preparation of annual reports to convey the outcomes of quality activities.
  • Supporting external audits conducted by third-party providers.
  • Evaluating audit results and reporting findings to the Director of Behavioral Health Programs.
  • Auditing client records in accordance with MaineCare, OADS, licensing, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Staying informed about quality legislation and compliance matters.
  • Facilitating orientation for new employees regarding the Quality Assurance Department and its functions.
  • Developing and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOP) for the department.
  • Serving as the agency's HIPAA Compliance Officer.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Valid vehicle insurance at $50K/$100K and a valid driver's license are mandatory.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate's Degree is preferred.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
  • A minimum of five to ten years of experience in an auditing capacity.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • High level of attention to detail.
