Job Title: Training Specialist I

Job Summary:

The University of Central Florida is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Training Specialist I to join our team. As a Training Specialist I, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance, training, and support to school district Pre-K coordinators and early childhood partners. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the successful implementation of the Technical Assistance and Training System (TATS) in the Northwest region of Florida.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate efforts across districts and regions to facilitate communication and collaboration among district Pre-K ESE contacts and other early childhood partners.
  • Provide technical assistance, training, and information to Pre-K ESE programs and early childhood partners on developmentally appropriate practices, quality Pre-K programming, Child Outcomes Measurement/Child Outcome Summary (COS), and inclusion of young children with disabilities into programs with their typically developing peers.
  • Work to develop and maintain viable inter-agency agreements to support the transition process for young children with disabilities regarding the transition from Part C to Part B, and child outcomes measurement and other early childhood initiatives.
  • Convening Regional Steering Committee meetings to share local, regional, and statewide information on Pre-K ESE program initiatives, including SPP Indicators, develop collaborative relationships among Committee members, and share evidence-based best practices.
  • Assist districts in developing district or regional-level support plans related to the district/region implementation of IDEA, State Strategic Plan for Pre-K, and emerging issues and/or challenges faced by classroom teachers or district staff.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree and 0+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219.
  • Experience of at least 2 years in an administrative role within the early intervention/early childhood special education field.
  • Experience providing training and technical assistance to teachers, agency personnel, and other early childhood special education professionals.
  • Hands-on experience with the Child Outcomes Summary (COS) process including participating in the rating process.
