Position Summary:

The Maintenance and Reliability Supervisor is tasked with overseeing and coordinating the efforts of personnel responsible for the upkeep and repair of mechanical and electrical systems, as well as the physical infrastructure of facilities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a robust work ethic, a commitment to excellence in a dynamic environment, and a strong desire for personal and professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate employee growth through coaching and accountability.
  • Establish and execute preventive maintenance strategies, including inspections and lubrication schedules for designated equipment.
  • Ensure the operational integrity of facility systems by implementing a comprehensive maintenance program, which includes troubleshooting and repairing faulty components.
  • Foster teamwork by setting common objectives and maintaining open communication; conduct performance evaluations for team members.
  • Manage budgetary requirements and control expenses throughout the operational cycle.
  • Oversee work scheduling and backlog management, coordinating efforts with operational teams.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance crew efficiency.
  • Analyze equipment performance and assist in resolving workflow challenges.
  • Collaborate with various departments to align activities and share insights.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of facility systems by engaging with operational teams to identify needs and issues.
  • Work in conjunction with the engineering team on capital project development and execution.
  • Coordinate vendor training and support as necessary.
  • Participate actively in the recruitment and onboarding of new personnel.
  • Investigate safety incidents and promote a proactive safety culture.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and maintain proper documentation.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing processes, quality, and service delivery.
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related discipline is highly preferred.
  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Strong technical expertise in a high-volume industrial manufacturing setting, particularly with packaging machinery.
  • Proficient analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • High mechanical and electrical aptitude with effective communication, mentoring, and training skills.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, committed to delivering superior quality.
  • Proactive in taking ownership of equipment, teams, and operational improvements.
  • Able to thrive in a collaborative environment that values honest communication and accountability.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and extended shifts.
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), with Oracle experience being a plus.
  • Experience in continuous improvement methodologies and equipment optimization.
  • Knowledge of 5S principles and sustainability practices.
  • Ability to understand and utilize KPIs for performance measurement.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships.
  • Proven capability to manage projects from conception to implementation and simplify complex challenges.
  • Excellent management skills encompassing supervision, leadership, and strategic planning.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.

Compensation: The salary range for this position is $84,000 - $94,000, which may include a discretionary bonus based on skills and experience.
