Position Summary:

The Maintenance and Reliability Supervisor is tasked with overseeing and coordinating the efforts of personnel dedicated to the upkeep and repair of mechanical and electrical systems, as well as the physical infrastructure of our facilities. This role demands a diligent individual with a robust work ethic and a commitment to excellence in a dynamic environment, alongside aspirations for significant personal and professional development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage in the development and coaching of team members, ensuring accountability.
  • Establish and execute preventive maintenance strategies utilizing inspections and evaluations for assigned machinery.
  • Ensure the operational integrity and reliability of facility systems through a comprehensive maintenance program.
  • Foster teamwork by creating shared objectives and maintaining open communication; conduct performance evaluations.
  • Manage budgetary constraints and track expenses throughout the operational cycle.
  • Oversee the scheduling and backlog of work within the designated area, coordinating with operational teams.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance crew efficiency.
  • Analyze equipment performance issues and assist in resolving workflow challenges.
  • Collaborate with various departments to synchronize activities and objectives.
  • Assess the functionality of facility systems by consulting with operational units to identify needs and challenges.
  • Work closely with the engineering team on project scope and execution.
  • Coordinate vendor support and training initiatives as necessary.
  • Participate actively in the recruitment and onboarding of new staff.
  • Investigate safety incidents and strive to maintain a proactive safety culture.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes and maintain proper documentation for all work performed.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing processes, quality, and service delivery.
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:

Required Skills and Experience:

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related discipline is highly preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong technical background in high-volume industrial manufacturing, particularly with packaging machinery.
  • Proficient analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • High mechanical and electrical aptitude, along with effective communication and mentoring skills.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, committed to maintaining superior quality standards.
  • Proactive approach to equipment and operational responsibilities.
  • Able to work collaboratively in a team-focused environment with a commitment to honest communication and accountability.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and extended shifts.
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS); experience with Oracle is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies and equipment optimization practices.
  • Experience with 5S principles and sustainability efforts.
  • Ability to interpret and apply key performance indicators (KPIs) for measuring success.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, fostering collaborative relationships.
  • Proven capability to manage projects from conception to implementation and simplify complex issues.
  • Exceptional management skills, including leadership, planning, and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively while maintaining attention to detail and quality control.

Compensation: The salary range for this position is $84,000 - $94,000, which may include a discretionary bonus based on skills and experience.
