  • Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and rectifying equipment-related issues, including mechanical and electrical failures, utilizing various hand and power tools, electric meters, and other necessary equipment.
  • Implementing and executing a comprehensive preventative maintenance strategy.
  • Interpreting equipment manuals and work orders to perform essential maintenance and servicing tasks.
  • Independently conducting Preventative Maintenance (PM) activities, which encompass cleaning, lubrication, oil changes, adjustments, repairs, rebuilds, and inspecting and replacing components.
  • Identifying required replacement parts and efficiently locating them within inventory. Assisting in the management of spare parts inventory through proper tracking of parts. Sourcing parts that are not readily available.
  • Prioritizing repair tasks when multiple maintenance issues arise simultaneously.
  • Ensuring the optimal functioning of all electrical units and systems within the facility.
  • Assisting in partial or complete overhauls of equipment, rebuilding parts as necessary using manuals and standard operating procedures.
  • Documenting repairs performed and suggesting enhancements to the PM schedule when equipment malfunctions occur.
  • Providing support in training and leading other maintenance personnel.
  • Adhering to safety regulations, assessing job hazards independently, and executing Lockout/Tagout and other safety protocols while working in confined spaces.
  • Collaborating with the Maintenance Manager, Production Manager, Supervisor, and team leads to ensure that downtime and repairs are completed efficiently.
  • Complying with all company and OSHA safety standards while performing maintenance duties.
  • Executing a robust predictive maintenance program as equipment ages.
  • Conducting uptime and downtime inspections, lubrication, and preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Troubleshooting and performing corrective actions on all mechanical and water systems within the facility.
  • Identifying and implementing improvements in equipment, documentation, work systems, and processes.
  • Repairing and troubleshooting all rotating and stationary equipment, including motors and gearboxes.
  • Recognizing conditions that may lead to equipment failures.
  • Engaging with various levels of personnel across different departments through face-to-face, telephone, email, and radio communications.
  • Researching system and component specifications using equipment manuals, schematics, parts breakdowns, online resources, and vendor communications.
  • Creating and modifying work orders, documenting details of work performed.
  • Escalating technical, procedural, and personnel-related issues to the direct lead or supervisor as necessary.
  • Maintaining cleanliness in maintenance and production areas where work is conducted.
  • Completing daily timesheets and submitting timecards for approval at the end of each workweek.
  • Resolving all timecard, attestation, and payroll-related matters and completing the attestation at the end of each workweek.
  • Exhibiting regular, consistent, and predictable attendance in accordance with company policies.
  • Performing additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • High School diploma (GED accepted).
  • Minimum of 2 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to pass a mechanical assessment.
  • Capability to work safely and effectively in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Self-motivated with a commitment to maintaining and enhancing skills.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and diagrams (preferred).
  • Strong analytical and mechanical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with limited oversight.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accurate work order documentation.
  • Experience in machine modifications and rebuilds is advantageous.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate information clearly in both written and verbal forms.
  • Proficiency in shop math and the ability to interpret basic measuring equipment.
  • Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with plumbing installation and repair.
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting and repair skills.
  • Experience with power tools, electric tools, and hand tools.
  • Understanding of various drive systems and the ability to repair them.
  • Experience in heater and fan repair.
  • Building maintenance experience.
  • Ability to read schematics and technical drawings.
  • Physical capability to lift/move/push/pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds; regularly lift/move/push/pull objects weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Willingness to climb ladders and work at heights.
  • Strong vision to safely perform essential job tasks.
  • Leadership and management skills.
  • Effective verbal and listening communication skills.
  • Time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
