Position Overview: The Security Specialist at Worley Headquarters in Houston operates under the direct guidance of the Security Lead and/or Security Captain. This role involves safeguarding work locations, personnel, and assets against incidents such as trespassing, theft, vandalism, harassment, and other disruptive activities. A key responsibility is performing access control to maintain the safety and security of the facility.

Work Schedule: Urban/Mon-Fri; PTO Eligible or Rotational: 1 week on/1 week off.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is necessary.
  • Proficient in speaking, reading, understanding, and writing English.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Must have reliable personal transportation to commute to the work site.
  • State of Texas Level II Unarmed Security Guard License (or ability to obtain upon hire).
  • CPR/AED certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in law enforcement, military police, corrections, or private security administration. Relevant military experience may substitute for law enforcement experience.
  • Ability to pass the company’s pre-employment screening process, including drug screening and background checks.

Essential Functions:

  • Understand and execute post orders, enforcing client and company policies.
  • Protect property from damage, theft, and unauthorized access.
  • Conduct regular patrols of the premises, ensuring all entry points are secure.
  • Perform searches of individuals, vehicles, and designated areas.
  • Maintain professional interactions with the public and clients.
  • Process visitor access and manage traffic and parking.
  • May operate and monitor surveillance equipment.
  • Respond to emergencies and assist in rescue operations as needed.
  • Communicate effectively over radio channels.
  • Document daily activities and incidents accurately.
  • Assist management and law enforcement during emergencies.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and work environment.
  • Participate in safety meetings and training sessions.

Working Environment: Employees may work shifts of eight to twelve hours and must be available for day or night shifts as required. The role is primarily conducted in a corporate office setting.

Physical Demands: The position requires routine walking, standing, and the ability to carry items up to 50 lbs. Candidates must complete a pre-employment physical and functional capacity exam.
