Position Overview:
The Branch Chief of the Simulation and Integration Branch is accountable for overseeing and directing the professional, technical, and administrative functions of a highly skilled team of engineers and scientists.

Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and align the vision of a technical workforce engaged in customer-funded research and development, systems creation, and technical assistance.
- Develop, plan, and manage simulation and integration initiatives. Clearly define and communicate the objectives of the Branch.
- Engage in strategic decision-making and coordinate technical activities with internal and external stakeholders.

Resource Management:
- Conduct resource planning, prioritize tasks, manage budgets, and execute reporting to fulfill Army requirements and deliver innovative technologies and solutions to internal partners, Army Program Managers, Cross-Functional Teams, and external clients.

Client Engagement:
- Maintain relationships with existing clients, identify new opportunities, and craft proposals, statements of work, and funding agreements to secure necessary resources for the Branch.

Team Leadership:
- Supervise and manage duty assignments, conduct performance evaluations, and foster training and team-building activities to enhance workforce productivity and capability.
- Address employee grievances and initiate necessary disciplinary or performance actions.

Communication and Mentorship:
- Regularly report to and maintain communication with the Division Chief and Chief Engineer/Scientist to ensure strategic alignment and execution of the Modeling and Simulation Division's objectives.
- Provide mentorship to all subordinate personnel and assist in identifying training needs for the Branch.

Requirements:
- Candidates must undergo a suitability or fitness determination based on a completed background investigation.
- A Financial Disclosure Statement is required, and the position is classified as a Drug Testing Designated Position, necessitating successful urinalysis testing prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Candidates may need to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.

Qualifications:
- Applicants must be U.S. Citizens with specialized experience equivalent to the DB-03 pay band (GS-13/14 level) in the Federal Service, including planning and leading teams in complex modeling and simulation projects.

Specialized Experience:
- Experience in developing and supporting customers with sensor modeling and integration in various environments.
- Proven ability to create technology roadmaps and manage resources effectively.

Competencies:
- Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving are essential skills for this role.

Additional Information:
- This position is part of the Science and Technology Laboratory Personnel Demonstration Project and may involve a supervisory trial/probationary period.
