POSITION OVERVIEW

The Lead Electrical Systems Engineer is responsible for addressing complex technical challenges, creating relevant documentation, and overseeing all allocated resources to ensure project success.

This role involves collaboration with the Chief Engineer and Project Engineer to identify project technical requirements, define necessary resources for meeting timelines and budget constraints, and resolve technical challenges as they arise within the engineer's area of expertise.

The Lead Electrical Engineer will oversee the design aspects of the following:
Integration of all vessel electronic systems
Communication systems
Central Control Operations
Steering and propulsion electronic systems
Electrical power and lighting systems
Comprehensive ship diagnostics
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:
Independently resolve technical challenges
Plan, estimate, schedule, and monitor both personal and team assignments
Track and report on progress in relation to budget and timeline commitments
Supervise assigned personnel
Facilitate effective communication regarding issues and solutions across the organization
Prepare, review, and deliver high-quality professional documentation
Interpret contractual obligations
Develop contract modification documents to align with project requirements
May be tasked with defining, tracking, and managing subcontractor activities
Adhere to and enforce all organizational policies and procedures.

SUPERVISORY DUTIES
The Lead Engineer directly oversees a team of 2 to 15 employees. Supervisory duties are executed in accordance with the Company's policies, procedures, and relevant laws.

Responsibilities encompass interviewing, hiring, and training staff; planning, assigning, and directing tasks; evaluating performance; rewarding and disciplining staff; addressing grievances and resolving conflicts.

The Lead Engineer also exemplifies leadership qualities that resonate with the mission, vision, and values of the Company.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:
A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering along with 6 years of progressively responsible experience in the engineering domain.

This requirement may also be satisfied with an Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering and 8 years of progressively responsible experience, or a High School Diploma or GED combined with 9 years of progressively responsible experience in the engineering field.

Supervisory experience is preferred.
Six Sigma or LEAN training is a plus.

SKILLS

Proficient understanding of standard shipbuilding regulations and the associated regulatory bodies, as well as the review and approval processes.

Current computer skills relevant to the engineering field are essential.
Ability to operate within budgetary and scheduling constraints is necessary.
Maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
Ability to uphold confidentiality is crucial.
Basic competency in Earned Value Management Systems is advantageous.
