Position Overview:
The Technical Support Specialist I plays a crucial role in providing assistance to users at the Red River Service Desk. This role is designed for individuals who are passionate about technology and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Technical Support Specialist I, your primary duties will include:

  • Managing a personal queue of support tickets and ensuring timely resolution to meet performance targets.
  • Responding to inbound client calls and assisting users in troubleshooting their technical issues.
  • Applying ITIL best practices to enhance service delivery.
  • Maintaining high-level knowledge of desktop operating systems, including both Windows and Mac environments.
  • Troubleshooting hardware and software issues effectively.
  • Providing support for Remote Desktop Services and VPN configurations.
  • Administering Office 365 services, including Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Handling basic email administration tasks, such as user account configurations and password resets.
  • Performing basic virtualization tasks, including managing virtual machines.
  • Understanding and managing Active Directory services, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Documenting processes and maintaining standards as technology evolves.
  • Engaging in other business-related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates should possess:

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in IT support and administration.
  • Experience with Windows administration and Active Directory management.
  • Active SECRET clearance or the ability to obtain one.

Preferred Qualifications:
While not mandatory, the following qualifications are desirable:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft MCSA.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 fundamentals.

Work Environment:
