Role of the Project Engineer

The Project Engineer will be integral to the success of the organization, ensuring adherence to compliance and construction standards. Key responsibilities include:

  • Soliciting and evaluating bids from subcontractors
  • Assisting in the development of bid scope summaries and approval documentation
  • Researching and monitoring new subcontractors, including those from out of town
  • Coordinating and managing construction drawings while generating Requests for Information (RFIs)
  • Conducting safety orientations and inspections for subcontractors
  • Organizing safety manuals, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), site signage, and barricades
  • Maintaining site cleanliness and managing the relocation of staged materials as necessary
  • Tracking, updating, and distributing incoming drawings, bulletins, and submittals
  • Reviewing submittals for compliance with contract requirements and managing distribution to architects and engineers
  • Documenting meeting minutes and maintaining project databases along with binders
  • Assisting in the preparation of daily reports and monitoring onsite construction progress
  • Developing and maintaining three-week look-ahead schedules and material status reports
  • Supporting onsite supervision and managing subcontractor productivity
  • Assisting in project close-out processes, including punch lists and as-built documentation
  • Performing other assigned duties as required

Qualifications and Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management or a related field
  • Proven ability to work independently and maintain self-motivation
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office and Procore is preferred
