Position Overview

Commercial Construction Project Coordinator

Key Responsibilities:

* Engage in pre-construction discussions and assist in project strategy and planning.

* Provide accurate forecasts regarding the scope, budget, and timeline of upcoming projects based on preliminary and conceptual designs.

* Organize and evaluate shop drawings, submittals, and plans.

* Support the project team in navigating municipal requirements and assess their impact on project schedules and budgets.

* Aid the project management team in cost estimation and budget forecasting throughout the project lifecycle.

* Facilitate coordination between the Superintendent and Project Manager.

* Collaborate with engineers, architects, clients, and team members to discuss projects, identify challenges, and propose effective solutions.

* Present schedules, budgets, and scopes of work to both internal and external stakeholders.

* Oversee the permitting and entitlement processes, presenting projects to municipal authorities as needed to secure necessary approvals.

* Maintain and manage a database of subcontractors.

* Build strong relationships with key subcontractors.

* Assist Project Managers in the final selection of suppliers and subcontractors.

* Collect historical data to inform future estimates.

* Stay updated on industry trends, pricing, and market conditions.

* Actively participate in the sales process by preparing relevant information (schedules, budgets, scopes of work) to support new business acquisition.

* Keep abreast of leading industry software and technology, maintaining current tools and recommending future technology investments.

* Maintain estimating databases and templates (including estimating and scope of work templates).

The Ideal Candidate

A successful candidate for the Commercial Construction Project Coordinator role will possess:
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in commercial construction project coordination.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a construction-related field is required.
  • Experience in Design/Build projects is preferred.
