Job Overview

The Logistics and Inventory Specialist is essential to the seamless functioning of our production facility. This role encompasses the receipt of incoming materials, management of inventory, preparation of outgoing shipments, and meticulous documentation throughout all processes.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Receive and verify incoming shipments of raw materials and supplies.
  • Conduct inspections of received items for accuracy and quality, reporting any issues to the relevant personnel.
  • Confirm received quantities against purchase orders and update inventory records accordingly.
  • Organize and maintain storage areas for inventory to ensure efficient access and proper stock rotation.
  • Prepare outgoing shipments by selecting, packing, and labeling items based on customer orders.
  • Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries, ensuring timely transportation.
  • Generate necessary shipping documents, including bills of lading and packing lists, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Utilize shipping software and ERP systems to track shipments and maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve shipping and inventory-related challenges.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the shipping and receiving areas, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Assist in conducting periodic inventory counts and audits to ensure accuracy.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency in shipping and receiving operations.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in logistics or supply chain management is advantageous.
  • Prior experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations in a manufacturing context.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems and shipping software.
  • General knowledge of ERP systems is beneficial.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficient in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and inventory management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for professional interaction with stakeholders.
  • Physical capability to lift and move heavy items and operate material handling equipment.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings or weekends, as needed.
  • Understanding of safety regulations and best practices in warehouse operations.
