Job Responsibilities and QualificationsPosition Summary:
Under the general supervision of the unit's director or designated representative, the Clinical Nurse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all operations within the unit during assigned shifts. This role involves collaboration with management to ensure the ongoing assessment of patient care quality.
The Clinical Nurse Supervisor:
- Directs and coordinates all unit functions during designated shifts.
- Serves as a resource for nursing staff and assists in their education.
- Ensures the overall quality of nursing care during their shift.
- Makes informed decisions based on established standards and collaborates with management.
This position supports the mission of The Medical Center of Aurora by focusing on enhancing the quality of life for all patients served.
Position Requirements:
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Colorado or an active multistate Registered Nurse license. Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required, along with ACLS certification.
Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred. Participation in professional organizations is encouraged.
Experience: Minimum of two years of clinical experience in the relevant specialty is preferred, along with six months of leadership or management experience.
Special Qualifications: Demonstrated clinical and leadership competency, commitment to patient safety, and a positive patient experience.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Strong organizational skills, ability to provide safe and effective patient care, sound judgment, and excellent communication skills.
