This role is situated within the Space Systems Development (SSD) division, which is focused on pioneering innovative concepts and systems that will enable sustainable living and working in space.

The Space Resources Program at Blue Origin is at the forefront of developing In-Situ Resource Utilization (ISRU) technologies aimed at harnessing resources from the Moon and beyond. Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the establishment, operation, and upkeep of the R&D facility and its equipment.
  • Lead teams focused on facility management, ensuring adherence to aerospace development standards.
  • Manage the operation of various heavy machinery, including forklifts and cranes.
  • Conduct inventory oversight for R&D components, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Facilitate collaboration with equipment operators and personnel, focusing primarily on facility management.
  • Coordinate with organizational facilities teams to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Develop and implement strategies for space management and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant federal and state regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 6 years of managerial experience in facilities management, preferably in aerospace or engineering.
  • Expertise in managing safety-critical hardware and mechanical tools.
  • Proven leadership abilities with a focus on fostering an inclusive work environment.
  • Experience collaborating with Health and Safety Officers and budget managers.
  • Familiarity with operational management tools such as Coupa, Jira, and Wiki Confluence.
  • Knowledge of material fabrication and safety protocols for pressurized systems.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and familiarity with quality management processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or legally admitted refugee/asylee.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, engineering, or a related field.
  • Over 10 years of management experience in facilities operations.

The compensation range for this position varies based on location and experience.
