About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Multiphysics Systems Engineer to join our Space Resources Program at Blue Origin. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in the development and demonstration of In-Situ Resource Utilization (ISRU) technologies for the Moon and beyond.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop multi-physics simulations to model complex systems and processes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate simulation results into product development
  • Develop and maintain high-fidelity models of fluid dynamics and heat transfer processes
  • Translate engineering designs and first principle understanding into code
  • Compare test results with models and provide feedback on model improvements
  • Document and communicate model limitations and applicability
  • Work independently to identify and implement technical solutions
Requirements
  • M.S. in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent technical field
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a relevant field
  • Experience simulating fluid dynamics and heat transfer processes
  • Ability to develop models and simulations in Python or a similar modeling environment
  • Proficiency in multi-physics simulation tools such as Ansys Fluent, COMSOL, StarCCM+
  • Ability to document, understand, and communicate model limitations and applicability
  • Basic familiarity with cloud infrastructure to support model execution
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently to identify and implement technical solutions
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in a relevant field
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience in high temperature thermal modeling
  • Experience in aerospace technology development environment
  • Familiarity with electrochemical principles and their application
  • Familiarity with molten regolith electrolysis fundamentals
  • Proficiency in StarCCM+
