Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Linux System Architect to join our team at Huntington Ingalls Industries. As a key member of our Cyber and Electronic Warfare business group, you will be responsible for developing the vision and architecting the implementation of our Linux cloud and on-premises compute environment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud and on-premises computing systems, with experience in defining and developing technical solutions for high-performance environments. You will guide a team to manage, administer, support, and enhance cloud and on-premises compute environments, ensuring continuous improvement and rapid problem resolution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify cloud architecture solutions to meet customer needs
  • Create conceptual, logical, and physical design for cloud-based and on-premises solutions for infrastructure and platforms
  • Architect compute environments with industry-standard best practices
  • Experience with cloud technologies such as OCI, Azure, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and other container architectures
  • Collaborate with DevSecOps teams
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends
Requirements
  • 9 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field, or 7 years of experience with a Master's degree in a related field, or 13 years of experience with a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum Secret clearance required to start
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI with enhanced security checks
Preferred Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience with creating compute system architectures
  • 7+ years of experience in virtual or containerized environments
  • 7+ years of experience with automation scripts: Bash, Python, Ansible, PowerShell
  • 3+ years of experience with cloud environments
  • 7+ years of experience with Linux and Windows Server administration
  • Cloud certifications
  • Experience with VMware vCenter and ESXi
  • Experience with GitLab/GitHub pipelines and actions
  • Experience with containers like Docker and Kubernetes
