Role Overview

As a Field Engineer within the Field Engineering Team at Seegrid, you will leverage your expertise to assist with customer installations and demonstrations of Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs), troubleshoot field issues, and pinpoint opportunities for enhancement in our existing product lineup. You will be responsible for defining product applications, assessing application performance, and providing installation support either on-site or remotely based on specific application requirements. Field Engineers are the authorities on the complete range of Seegrid products and play a crucial role in ensuring ongoing education, training, and documentation as new products are introduced. Your experiences will empower you to create new tools and processes for swiftly identifying and resolving issues in situ. You will know the AMRs as if they were your own creations.

Success in Your First Year Will Look Like:
  • You possess a comprehensive understanding of Seegrid's product offerings and can recommend optimal utilization strategies for customers.
  • You take ownership of the Field Engineering support for a customer application from initial scoping through to implementation.
  • You regularly collaborate with core engineering teams, product teams, and customer support teams at Seegrid to deliver exceptional service to our clients.
  • You are adept at triaging field service requests and conducting the necessary analysis to resolve them.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Defining, replicating, and testing new customer applications.
  • Assisting with the installation of customer applications.
  • Creating and delivering product demonstrations both internally and at industry events.
  • Developing version-controlled custom configurations for customer installations.
  • Maintaining training documentation for Seegrid products and creating new training tools and procedures as needed.
  • Triaging service requests that escalate to engineering.
  • Identifying product improvements and tracking issues encountered in the field.
  • Traveling to customer locations for data collection and issue resolution.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a relevant technical domain.
  • Familiarity with robotics and automation systems.
  • Experience working with Linux operating systems.
  • A collaborative team player with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with related sensor technologies, including 2D/3D LiDAR, monocular and stereo cameras, etc.
  • Proficiency in using containerization technologies (e.g., Docker).
  • Programming skills in languages such as C++ and Python.
  • Experience with ROS or ROS2.
  • Familiarity with software version control systems (e.g., Git) and other software engineering best practices (e.g., unit testing, continuous integration, etc.).
