Our fresh lettuce varieties, ranging from traditional greens to unique salad mixes, are widely available across numerous retail locations.

The Food Safety & Quality team is seeking a dedicated Food Safety & Quality Manager to spearhead the execution of our food safety initiatives at our greenhouse facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee production operations to uphold top-tier food safety standards.
  • Foster a culture of food safety within the organization.
  • Manage and collect routine environmental monitoring samples, including water, swabs, and product samples.
  • Train personnel on the Quality Management System and its integration into daily greenhouse operations.
  • Supervise pest control management and conduct regular assessments.
  • Lead site audits, internal reviews, regulatory inspections, and Good Manufacturing Practices evaluations.
  • Administer the supplier approval process.
  • Conduct root cause analyses and implement necessary corrective measures to ensure product safety and quality.
  • Perform food safety hazard assessments, update safety plans, and engage in change management processes.
  • Standardize best practices and develop forms for key performance indicators.
  • Maintain digital records for food safety and review documentation regularly.
  • Communicate effectively with all employees across the organization.
  • Exhibit a willingness to assist with various tasks to ensure efficient greenhouse operations.
  • Report any food safety and quality issues to management.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 4 to 8 years of experience in food safety and quality assurance, with agricultural experience being advantageous.
  • Familiarity with GFSI auditing programs or FSMA regulations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of producing compliance documents such as standard operating procedures and training materials.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and leadership abilities, setting high standards for safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Detail-oriented and data-driven approach.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with PowerBI is a plus.
  • Ability to meet physical job requirements, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Self-motivated problem solver with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptable to a dynamic work environment.
  • Collaborative team player.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
