Job Summary

**About the Role**

The Clinical Quality Specialist is a vital member of the Quality Assurance team at FIRST CHOICE PRIMARY CARE, responsible for assisting with the collection of clinical data, quality improvement summaries, reports, and clinical training. This position plays a crucial role in monitoring clinical quality measures and supporting the Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) program to achieve NCQA accreditation status.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Collaborate with the Quality Improvement Coordinator to ensure compliance with quality assurance standards and regulations, including UDS data analysis, PCMH benchmarks, ACO measures, and HEDIS.
  2. Identify barriers to implementing the PCMH model and work with staff to develop solutions to address these challenges.
  3. Conduct chart audits as required by PCMH to evaluate if locations are meeting PCMH requirements.
  4. Assist the Quality Assurance Program with gathering monthly data and reports for statistical and planning purposes, identifying adverse trends, and recommending corrective action to improve outcomes.
  5. Support the Quality Improvement Coordinator with reports, surveys, and data/statistical information required by the Quality Assurance Program, PCMH Program, UDS reporting system, ACO, and HEDIS.
  6. Provide education to staff on benchmarks and goals of the Quality Assurance Program, PCMH, UDS requirements, ACO, and HEDIS.
  7. Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Operating Officer or Quality Improvement Coordinator.

Requirements

  1. Current MA certification is required.
  2. Minimum (2) years of medical experience is required.
  3. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is necessary.
  4. Previous outpatient, primary care experience is required.
  5. Maintain annual competencies/nursing skills checklist.
  6. Meet all training requirements as required of the position.
  7. Knowledge and qualifications necessary to execute all duties as described above under Responsibilities and Duties.
  8. Knowledge of computer systems and applications, including electronic medical records.
  9. Skills in planning, organizing, problem-solving, and decision-making.
  10. Knowledge and experience with a strong quality assurance program; gathering and interpreting data.
  11. Strong interpersonal skills to mediate conflict resolution and to be a 'change agent' based on strong leadership skills.
  12. High degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making demonstrated in prior employment positions.
