Position Overview
Role Summary
Permian Basin Insight
ConocoPhillips has a rich history in the Permian Basin, having operated there for nearly a century. Our strategic acquisitions have further solidified our position in this vital region, where we currently manage approximately 1 million net acres.

As an Artificial Lift Technician, you will collaborate with Lead Operators, SCADA Technicians, and Production Foremen in field operations to optimize well performance. Your responsibilities may include:
  • Supporting the installation of artificial lift systems, including rod pumping mechanisms and associated devices like pump-off controllers and SCADA systems.
  • Enhancing artificial lift efficiency by analyzing well performance, monitoring fluid levels, conducting dynamometer surveys, and collaborating with engineering and operations teams.
  • Identifying suboptimal pumping performance, diagnosing issues, and proposing effective solutions.
  • Improving equipment reliability by minimizing failures through thoughtful design and active participation in well failure discussions.
  • Assisting the production team as directed by supervisors, particularly in addressing artificial lift challenges and optimization efforts.
Qualifications:
Essential:
  • Must possess legal authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in artificial lift systems, including Gas Lift, ESP, Rod Pump, and Plunger Lift.
  • Availability to work overtime as needed.
Preferred:
  • At least 1 year of experience with SCADA systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with well optimization principles and techniques.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Proven leadership and mentoring capabilities.
  • Willingness to conduct training sessions.
  • Ability to generate practical solutions based on available data and make timely decisions.
  • Commitment to achieving results while ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Proactive in seeking diverse perspectives to meet business objectives.
  • Accountability for actions and commitments.
